2022 Hijos and Albóndigas
Released in February of 2025, our 2022 Hijos, a bold blend of 65% Tempranillo and 35% Cabernet Sauvignondedicated to Brian’s sons Ben and Alex. This wine pairs exceptionally well with Chef Nicholas Ames’ Albóndigas thanks to its Old World soul and vibrant structure.
The wine’s dark cherry, black pepper, thyme, and tobacco notes echo the savory complexity of the pork meatballs and smoked paprika-infused tomato sauce. The wine’s bright acidity cuts through the richness of the dish, while its ripe tannins stand up beautifully to the robust textures and deep umami flavors. The pairing is both rustic and refined — a tribute to Spanish tradition and family warmth in every bite and sip.
